Custom grillz are made from a mold of your own teeth — here's the full process, start to finish. Every set we make begins with a dental impression you take at home, which is why your grillz fit perfectly: they're built from your exact bite, not a generic size.
The 4-Step Process
Step 1 — Place your order
Choose your style, karat (silver, 10K, or 14K gold), and options. Every custom grillz order includes a professional dental impression kit — the same dentist-grade silicone putty used in dental offices.
Step 2 — Your impression kit arrives first
Your kit ships the next business day. Inside: putty, trays, step-by-step instructions, and a prepaid return mailer. This is the part most first-time buyers don't expect — the kit comes first, not the grillz.
Step 3 — Take your impression and send it back
Mixing the putty and taking your mold takes about 5 minutes. Mail it back in the prepaid mailer the same day if you can — the sooner your impression reaches us, the sooner your set goes into production. Step 4 — We handcraft your set
Once your impression arrives, our craftsmen build your grillz from your exact mold. Allow 2–3 weeks for handcrafting. When your set ships, you'll get tracking by email.
Common Questions
How long do custom grillz take in total?
Plan on roughly 4–6 weeks door to door: kit shipping, your turnaround on the impression, 2–3 weeks of handcrafting, and return shipping. Returning your impression quickly is the biggest factor you control.
Will they really fit?
Yes — that's the whole point of the impression process. Your grillz are made from a mold of your own teeth, so they fit like they were made for you, because they were.
What if my impression doesn't come out right?
Your kit includes enough putty for multiple attempts. If you're not sure your mold is clean, text us a photo before mailing it — we'll tell you if it will work.
What if I have a gap or missing teeth?
You can still get custom grillz. Gaps can be preserved, closed, or bridged with a decorative bar; missing teeth are usually workable as long as the neighboring teeth are healthy. Can I order just the impression kit first?
Yes. Our DIY impression kit is available on its own, and the cost is credited toward your custom grillz order.
